The Food Service Site Director will be responsible for the development of the management team and 40 hourly employees.  The Food Service Site Director will have daily interaction with the client and client's employees. This individual will be focused on ensuring operational excellence. As our Food Service Site Director, you will plan, manage, and guide multiple contracted services for a single client normally generating up to $4M in annual revenue, to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives, and customer needs. 
For our client at this site, we deliver the following services: Food, Housekeeping, Front Desk and Facility Maintenance. 


PLEASE NOTE:

 

  • Ability and willingness to travel/work long rotations away from home.
  • Work schedule of 14 working days, followed by 14 days off
  • While in camp, most days are 10 – 12 hours duration
  • Travel to & from your home location to the camp site will be covered by Aramark.
  • Your meals and accommodations, while in-camp are provided at no additional cost to you.
  • To be considered, candidates must be fully fluent in French. 

Job Responsibilities

 

The Food Service Site Director will report to the District Manager and is responsible for the supervision, direction and co-ordination of the operations of the Remote camp. The successful candidate for the position should have significant experience in the hospitality industry with a strong knowledge of operations, high financial acumen and excellent customer service skills.

 

Primary responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the safe delivery of superior culinary and hospitality operations in a remote location.
  • Accountable for responsible fiscal management, including operational forecasts, food and labor targets, and cost controls
  • Provide support to Front Line Managers to ensure financial targets of operation are met or exceeded.
  • Accountable for rollout of Operational Programs, and Executional Framework.
  • Ensure Scope of Work (SOW) is followed for site, and gaps reported to District Manager, or designate, weekly.
  • Accountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on having Safety as a value.
  • Responsible to ensure the completion of inventory, and site health and safety audits; maintaining records to comply with ARAMARK, government and accredited agency standards.
  • Ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels areas are met.
  • Create partnerships between Front Line Managers, office/support staff and client.
  • Ongoing review of service provision while seeking opportunity to implement new products and amenities to meet client needs.
  • Determine innovative ways to encourage partnerships with local communities.
  • Participate in the recruitment, development and retention of front-line team.
  • Motivate, train, and supervise hourly employees and supervisors on programs and procedures such as Customer Service, Culinary Excellence and Waste Management.

Qualifications

 

  • 2.5+ years Management/Leadership experience preferably in remote camp or hotel/hospitality industries.
  • Ideally, a Business Diploma or certificate from recognized Post-Secondary Institution.
  • Food Safe Advanced Certifications are mandatory.
  • First Aid Certification is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised.
  • Strong with prioritization and time management.
  • Ability and willingness to travel/work long rotations away from home.
