What you'll be doing

Operational Delivery 
⦁    Maintain compliance with legislative client, mess and company policies
⦁    Manage the Mess and Hotel Services as defined in the Contract
⦁    Champion excellent customer service and effectively implement all customer communication tools provided by Marketing in order to build sales
⦁    Carry out regular staff meetings and feedback sessions 
⦁    Communicate regularly with PMC or Mess representatives as agreed 
⦁    Ensure all daily paper / computer work is complete and that inventories and statistical reports are completed correctly and at the right time.
⦁    Ensure that the Mess Accommodation and public areas are maintained to a high standard in line with the contract
⦁    Ensure all client hospitality is delivered to the correct standard and look to upsell and increase revenue
⦁    Arrange Accommodation for all permanent and visiting SNCO/Officers.
⦁    Communicate any onsite client changes with Line Manager
⦁    Identify any additional opportunites for best practice and discuss with Line Manager
⦁    Maintain a daily register of all meals taken in the mess and complete al necessary documentation required by the mess accountant, General Manager and. 

Compliance 
⦁    Knowledge of all applicable policies 
⦁    Ensure strict compliance with Aramark Hygiene and Safety requirements
⦁    Analyse and Manage all unit costs
⦁    Food Wastage is recorded

Finance
⦁    Ensure Timesheets are compiled and checked for accuracy
⦁    Complete Labour Schedules within the labour budget
⦁    Maintain Compliance with company and client accounting policies and procedures 

Team Management
⦁    Line management, scheduling and performance management of Team 
⦁    Ensure Team Members receive appropriate training to company policies; legal and health and safety requirements
⦁    Champion a training culture within the team to ensure succession planning
⦁    Oversee the performance evaluation process for staff on site to ensure this is conducted in a timely manner and based on agreed objectives and targets
⦁    Plan and lead team management meetings and daily briefings

Health and Safety
⦁    Ensure workpacks and staff training records are maintained as per company policy.
⦁    Ensure that any equipment issues that may result in causing risk to staff or client and customers are reported to the health and safety helpline.
⦁    Raise any issues with clients to line managers to ensure clients resolve the matter.
⦁    Ensure that all food diaries on site are checked and actions taken as appropiate.
⦁    Ensure HSE incidents are reported and investigated with relevant reviews of working procedures
⦁    Maintain up to date training records for all embers of your team
⦁    Ensuring statuatory compliance to current legislation and company policies
⦁    Ensure COSHH Regulations are implemented
⦁    Ensure Risk assessments are undertaken and reviewed as per company policy
 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous management experience in the food services or retail industry
  • A successful DBS check will also be required

⦁    PC skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) 
⦁    Fully confident with bespoke software applications
⦁    Ability and full confidence in producing reports across all areas of the business
⦁    Excellent numeracy skills; strong written and verbal skills
⦁    Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 – desirable but not essential as training is provided
⦁    Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation
