Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a world-class facility. The Aquarium provides learning opportunities for all levels, interests, and ages. Since opening its new facility in Draper in March 2014, the Aquarium has welcomed over eight million guests and provided innumerable educational experiences to students. Home to almost 5,000 animals representing 600 plus species and an additional 600 plus plant species the Aquarium showcases ecosystems from around the planet including kelp forests, coral reefs, the deep ocean, Antarctic waters, Asian cloud forests, South American rain forests, and the waterways of our home state of Utah. 

The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing, directing, and assisting employees serve our premium guests with fantastic customer service and a high attention to detail. 

Our ideal candidate is an individual who can work independently with little supervision and communicate swiftly and consistently with their team and leadership.  Making a lasting impression on our guests and ensuring that a five-star, white-gloved experience is made.

Compensation Data

The hourly rate of pay for this position ranges from $18 to $20. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.  

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations of assigned areas during events.  
  • Interact with clients and guests, as necessary.  
  • Identifying customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns.   
  • Ensure all event spaces, pantries, etc. are properly set and ready for each event.  
  • Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel, promote employee growth, efficiency, morale and teamwork.   
  • Maintain and control high volume food and beverage inventory.  
  • Train, educate, and enforce responsible service of alcoholic beverages.  
  • Enforce standards for service, sanitation, and product and food quality.  
  • Interact with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and other standard operating procedures.  
  • Conduct physical audit of inventory and product.  
  • Follow and encourage your team to follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to looking for and reporting any unsafe work conditions, and complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.  
  • Verification of rentals, food, supplies, beverage, etc. has been received in accordance to Event Orders, Transfers, etc.  
  • Work directly with Culinary in a professional and productive manner to ensure all service needs are met.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older 
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communications and interpersonal skills.  
  • Knowledge and experience working with a POS system.  
  • Customer service and communication.  
  • Fast paced problem solving.  
  • Must be personable, proactive, and self-motivated.  
  • Organized and ability to jump from task to task and prioritize as needed.  
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  
  • Able to adapt to change quickly.  
  • Punctual and dependable.  
  • Must be able to read and maintain information.  
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.  
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.  
  • Service industry experience preferred.
